KAYODE FAYEMI WAITED PATIENTLY TO BECOME GOVERNOR OF EKITI STATE NIGERIA

KAYODE FAYEMI waited for 40 months, whilst his opponent who had lost the election to him in 2007, ruled Ekiti State, Nigeria. Now, the Election Tribunal Appeal Court has ruled in his favour and he has been sworn in. KAYODE says he will run a progressive administration. A lesser man would have relied on other methods to fulfil the mandate given to him by the people of Ekiti and he must be congratulated on his courage, patience and tenacity of purpose. In the column below, REUBEN ABATI, one of the most authoritative and enlightened columnists writing in Nigeria at the moment, advises Kayode to stick to the principles that gothim elected, and avoid triumphalism.
