CAMERON’S COMMENT Very sad that President Jacob Zuma, who is so often touted as a “man of the people”, should allow this to happen under his watch. He has two months to try and do something about it. Money is pouring into South African contractors’ pockets like water, due to World Cup contracts. He should specially surcharge some of it to house the people who are being so inconvenienced by the staging of the World Cup. If the former apartheid Government had done this, the world would be up in arms protesting against it — with Zuma leading the ANC section of the protesters with a banner proclaiming “The Poor Deserve Somewhere To Live In Dignity.”.
